Belsay Hall provided the perfect backdrop for this busy and sometimes frantic classic car show, September 3rd 2017.
Early start and through the ancient Greek walls, you’re instantly given the stately welcome by the very polite stewards. From Grand Grecian Hall to the Victorian Tea Rooms, this classic venue has more taste than the average Earl Grey tea spritzer.
The architecture of Belsay’s Greek-revival mansion is indeed overwhelming, with the rock carved from Belsay’s very own quarry, and reportedly inspired by a trip to Athens. Varied grounds and charming castle backdrop complimented the perfect showcase for an outstanding collection of classic vehicles.
If that’s not enough to satisfy your ever expanding appetite, then swiftly make your way to the Belsay Hall tearoom in the hall’s original kitchen for even more treats.
In short this has everything a classic wandering raincoat could wish for. So, without further ado here’s some of the shots we managed to grab whilst eating hot sandwiches, cream cakes and the obligatory fresh scones.
