An impeccable 2003 Ferrari Enzo with less than 1,250 original miles will be offered at a forthcoming online sale with an estimate of $2,600,000 – $2,900,000.
The V12 Italian powerhouse has seen only two California-based collector owners from new and also boasts the very rare red 3D fabric seat inserts among other essential integrity-based additions.
RM Sotheby’s ‘Driving into Summer’ online-only auction will see chassis no. 13303 spearhead an impressive lot line-up which will include examples from pre- and post-war American classics through to grand touring and sports cars of the 1950s, 60s and 70s, as well as high-performance supercars and modern classics.
The spirited Enzo was aptly named for the marque’s founder and drew inspiration from Formula 1 design and futuristic technology cues on the heels of Ferrari’s 2000 Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ Championship wins as well as the dawn of the Ferrari–Schumacher era.
Enzo Ferrari Power
Powered by the Tipo F140B V-12 engine and developing 651hp and transmitted via a six-speed dual-clutch transaxle that was actuated with column-mounted paddle-shifters, the Enzo reached 60-mph from standstill in an eye-watering 3.3-seconds and a top speed of 218mph.
Its unequivocal good looks were so good the now highly desirable classic was capped at only 400 units, so this was a car whose engineering and styling was infinitely matched by its rarity. As unique and captivating today as it was in 2002, the Ferrari Enzo continues to hold sway with collectors, unmistakably carrying the mantle of Maranello’s defining millennial hypercar, the genetic link between the sensuous F50 and the hybrid LaFerrari.
The car is offered at auction on behalf of its second California owner, with a frugal 1,250 miles recorded from new on its lazy odometer and optioned with the very rare two-tone racing seats with red 3D cloth inserts. Carefully maintained, the impressive Enzo is truly a sight for the enthusiastic eyes to slowly ponder over.
