2019 Car Club Awards Finalists Released

National Car Club Awards

The shortlist of finalists for the 2019 National Car Club Awards, in association with Tourism Ireland, have been revealed as the esteemed panel of judges have trawled through the nominations, with more clubs than ever before nominated in 2019.

Awards Panel Chairman Lee Masters said:

“Not only have more clubs been nominated than ever before in our four-year history but the quality of the entries has also reached new heights. Plus, nearly half of the nominations were for clubs that had never been nominated before. Good luck to all our finalists and we look forward to seeing who will be victorious on the night.”

Gay Classic Car Group

The Gay Classic Car Group leads the way, shortlisted in four of the Car Club category awards as well as two of the Devoted Member categories. They are included in the running for the coveted National Car Club of the Year accolade, along with the National Street Rod Association (NSRA), which has four Car Club nominations, and the BMW Car Club GB, which has three Car Club nominations and two in the Devoted Member categories. The MG Car Club also has three Car Club and one Devoted Member nomination.

With the finalists announced in eleven of the award categories, six trophies will also be awarded to clubs exhibiting at the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show, with Discovery, chosen by the panel of Judges. All the winners along with the recipient of the Judge’s Special Recognition award will be revealed at a glittering Awards Dinner on Saturday 23 March 2019, held at Birmingham’s NEC once the show closes for the day.

Founded in 2016, these awards celebrate the UK classic car clubs, which are the heart and soul of the classic motoring community, and the people that are the backbone, constantly working to attract new members and offering unwavering support to fellow owners.

Supported by Classic Car Weekly and endorsed by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC), the 2019 judging panel includes David Boyce from main sponsor Tourism Ireland and David Whale, Chairman of the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC).
