UKTV has released news that the Bangers & Cash series has been recommissioned for a further two series and will return to Yesterday channel in 2020.
The successful classic car programme, Bangers & Cash follows Yorkshire based auctioneers Mathewson’s on their dedicated mission to weed out even more exceptional garage, barn and elusive shed finds we all dream of before whisking them carefully to Auction.
Set in the picturesque, quintessential English village of Thornton Le-Dale in North Yorkshire, the first series reached the dizzy heights of around 350k viewers and covered an eclectic range of classics that included a quirky Bond Bug, Sierra Cosworths, Jaguar E-Types, MGBs and even a collection of Rolls-Royces accumulated over a 20-year time frame.
Andy Joynson, executive producer for Yorkshire-based production company, Air TV:
“We really wanted to capture the passion and expertise that Derek and the team have for classic cars and we are grateful for the reaction the channel and viewers have had for the show so far.
“We’ve already got more cars, more auctions, more stories and more Mathewson’s ready for next year!”

The format is simple to understand by enthusiasts and it seems Bangers & Cash has managed to reach the parts other classic car offerings have failed to quench by making itself non-elitist and extremely viewer-friendly.
Those who’ve not seen the first ten episodes can catch up with the hit series on Yesterday, where the full series remains available 24/7 on UKTV Play via this link.
