Beamish annual Classic Car Day takes place on Sunday 24th September 2017, and will see the classic vehicle community coming together for one of its final spectacular classic vehicle displays.
Classic enthusiasts will once again head north towards the pearly gates of Beamish Open Air Museum, an industrial real-life showcase steeped in historical splendour.
Beautiful Durham Countryside
Beamish sits comfortably in 300 acres of beautiful Durham countryside and is now celebrating its £10.9million grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund for the Remaking Beamish project.
As You would expect from this magical venue there will be whole range of historical events rolled out, including costumed folk carrying out their daily duties and bringing real life to the enchanting town, but also meeting and greeting those lucky enough to visit this enchanting place.
Recent funding will allow even further development of the museum, with the centrepiece showcasing a unique reconstructed 1950s Town.
This will integrate with the existing attractions depicting early 19th and 20th centuries, but also work in synergy embracing living memory periods for those experiencing this wonderful time travelling experience.
Visitors will also be able to stay overnight in a recreation of a Great North Road coaching inn.
By 2021, Beamish Open Air Museum plan to attract 100,000 more visitors to the region annually and create 95 permanent jobs and 50 apprenticeships.
Beamish Classic Cars
Organised by the North East Club for Pre-War Automobiles, the event welcomed over 400 classic cars last year dating from around the 1920’s onwards.
There will as ever be a vast historical cross-section of vehicles on display, ranging from Austin, BMC, Bedford, Citroen, Daimler, Ford, Jaguar, Morris, Triumph and even some golden nuggets for the enthusiastic classic visitor to cast their eyes upon.
All vehicles will be showcased on the Events Field.
Unlimited Passes can be used for all daytime events.
We at Classic Car Curation will be there with our trusty camera to bring you some close up shots of this prestigious event.
