An emotional story about retired Land Rover employee Dorothy Peters.
Dorothy describes how, at only 15 years young, she and her mother went to the then ‘Rover’ factory, to see what employment there was on offer.
Dressed in the obligatory little white ankle socks and sandals, she gained a suitable position, as described on her identity card, in the ‘service department’.
An incredible story, which ultimately sees Dorothy reunited with her Series I Land Rover ‘number 16’ 70 years after she worked with the vehicle at the Lode Lane factory.
The often tearful reunion was brought about by a chance meeting this summer at Land Rover Fest – a celebration of 70 years of the iconic Land Rover brand.
