The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, with Discovery is on the final countdown as Birmingham’s NEC prepares for an onslaught of vintage and petrolhead enthusiasts from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 November 2018.
Boasting an even larger classic extravaganza than previous, the high octane event will have an extra hall where numerous local car clubs will be represented, including the West Berkshire Classic Vehicle Club, and the West Midlands Classic Car Club.
The Debutant Hall 8
Hall 8, which increases the overall show space to a staggering one million square feet (the equivalent of 18 full size football pitches) will be called The Debutant Hall as it will host 15 clubs that have never exhibited at the end of season finale ever before.
Classic motorsport devotees can satisfy their lust for speed by heading over to the Historic Marathon Rally Group stand, where there will be a celebration of cars and crews that were involved in the iconic 1968 London to Sydney Rally.
Cars on show will include Ford Cortina GT, MGB, and a number of BMC 1800s including a former BMC Team East African Safari ‘recce’ car that finished the Marathon in 36th place.
British Motor Vehicles
British Motor Vehicles disciples can also breath a sigh of relief as eclectic mix of cars from a 1926 Morris Bullnose Pick-up to a 1964 Crayford convertible Mini are showcased.
The popular MGF Register will also be present as they offer a fantastic assortment of variation, including very early production model that has recently undergone a full restoration, to a limited-edition MG TF sporting an eye-catching ‘Chromactive Typhoon’ paint job.
Other British marques within the new Hall 8 are the Midlands Austin Seven Club and a spectacular Triumph ‘dozen‘ that will range from pre-WW1 models right through to 1980s cars, all supplied for display by the Standard Triumph Forum.
Fast Ford gurus can witness the tasty delights on offer by the Bexhill 100 Motoring Club, which include a 1994 Escort Cosworth rally car. Other rapid Fords arrive in the shape of two Capri’s and a Escort Cosworth that feature on the stand of the Ford Enthusiasts Club.
