Overfinch Heritage’s classic restomod division has given the purist something to smirk about with their latest Range Rover ‘Field Edition’…

The company has been reimagining the king of SUV’s and traditional Land Rovers for the last 46 years but reckon this gurgling powerhouse is their best yet saying ‘this fully remastered project epitomises Overfinch Heritage’s commitment to quality, creativity, and performance‘.

To the casual onlooker, the timeless Emerald Green Range Rover silhouette remains faithful to its design, performance, quality, and integrity… However, closer inspection reveals a whole plethora of exquisite automotive refinements on offer to those fortunate enough to find themselves behind the wheel of this extravagant country rambler.

The project begins with an original 1993 Range Rover LSE donor vehicle which, after close scrutiny, is given a complete and thorough ‘ground up’ restoration to ensure bullet-proof protection against any future weather attacks.

Once inside the Overfinch Field Edition, you’re met with the luxurious waft of a tan leather interior adorned with knurled brightwork throughout. The all-new leather refurbishment utilises perforated and diamond-quilt accents across the seating and headlining, elevating the original Recaro seats with a modern, luxurious feel. This is indeed a pleasant space to be in.

If that falls short on the impressions chart then have a quick walk around the back and open the upper and lower tailgate assembly. The glorious Field Edition features that all-important gun and drinks cabinet which is carefully hand-crafted from Walnut with Olive Ash inserts and even a complimentary, inlaid leather topper.

Consisting of two lockable drawers, the gun box has room for two shotguns, equipment and accessories suitable for a variety of refreshments, and a specially crafted humidor compartment. As you’d expect, the gun box Cellarette has been engineered to ‘securely’ fit the vehicle, using bespoke engineered metal fixings.

While you won’t be receiving a Christmas card from Greta Thunberg anytime soon, you can rest assured the almighty 6.2-litre V8 engine mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox will deliver enough power and performance to avoid most of those tricky everyday encounters we all love to hate when out shooting in the country.

There’s no doubt the £250k (plus vat) Field Edition has got bags of personality and costs a pretty penny, but then again, this is a Range Rover Classic for the connoisseur…
