Leading luxury dealer group H.R. Owen has welcomed British music royalty to its Rolls-Royce Motor Cars London showroom in the form of legendary The Who frontman Roger Daltrey.
Daltrey headed to Rolls-Royce’s flagship dealership to get up close and personal with the special-edition car that celebrates his musical legacy and add an extra touch of exclusivity to it.
Inspired by Music
In 2016, Daltrey sat down with designers and CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös at Rolls-Royce HQ in Goodwood to hand-pick bespoke design enhancements and produce the ultimate collector’s car – Wraith ‘Inspired by Music’.
The Wraith now calls Rolls-Royce Motor Cars London its home, and Daltrey spent the afternoon in the company of his creation before hand-signing it under the bonnet and increasing its sentimental value.
One of the finest examples of Rolls-Royce’s incredible attention to detail and bespoke brilliance, Daltrey’s Wraith features The Who’s famous bullseye logo and a laser-etched depiction of his iconic microphone swing – making it a dream model for any big fan of The Who.
Rolls-Royce has committed to pledging a large chunk of the Daltrey Wraith’s value to several charities upon its purchase – including The Teenage Cancer Trust. It’s available to view at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars London now.
H.R. Owen’s showroom recently reported substantial growth and celebrated 2016 as the most successful year in its history – making it the No. 1 dealer in Europe. As such, it’s best placed to facilitate the sale of such a special collector’s car.
Rolls-Royce Brand Director Claus Andersen said:
“It was a real privilege having one of British music’s most loved names in the showroom and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing Roger get to grips with his own commissioned cars. He absolutely loved sitting in the driver’s seat and the rear and was in awe at how his visions came to life so well. This is the ultimate collector’s car and we’re looking forward to giving one very lucky fan of The Who the chance to own the most iconic piece of memorabilia ever created – that’s if Mr Daltrey doesn’t try to buy it himself!”
The Who front man Daltrey added: “I am enormously excited at the prospect of raising vital funds and awareness for The Teenage Cancer Trust in collaboration with Rolls-Royce, a true British icon. The themes, so perfectly expressed by the Rolls-Royce designers in this car, are as relevant today as they were when we first performed them. I worked hard with the designers to capture the spirit of our songs and what their lyrics mean to fans of all generations. I’m certain the car will serve as the ultimate collector’s piece for any Who aficionado.”
