A 1964 Jensen CV8 once owned by the iconic James Bond legend, Sean Connery, has come up for sale for a cool £135,000.
Built in 1964 and with a description of being ‘particularly original’, this CV8 was apparently purchased by Connery following his role in the James Bond movie, You Only Live Twice.
Costing around £2000, the now retired Scottish actor and producer Connery parted with his well earned cash to premier London-based Jensen dealers, Charles Follett.
On reflection his choice over the Aston Martin DB5, which was priced only marginally higher, may have been dubious at best. The fact he did actually choose the Jensen over the Aston speaks volumes of the quality delivered by the British manufacturer.
Performance was of course somewhat lagging behind the DB5, with the Aston topping a healthy 140mph, while the CV8 could stretch its legs a shade over 130mph.
Connery’s Jensen CV8 was actually used for a short section in the only movie he ever directed, The Bowler And The Bunnet, which saw him piloting the car from the capital into Scotland.
Described by the vendor as “being in its original factory colour scheme of green paint with beige trim, the Connery CV8 has a full history line from 1964 to date. Even the old green logbook remains within the history file, showing Sean Connery as the second owner, and bearing his signature.”
The Jensen Museum collection purchased the vehicle in 2014, with various grades of restoration being carried out.
Probably the most famous Jensen CV8 to grace the roads, and one that could be yours for a healthy £135,000.
