
Silverstone Classic will celebrate their own belated 30th birthday party with the 60th anniversary of the illustrious Mini Cooper at this year’s event…
60 years and counting our classic friend the retro Mini will be represented in full force at this summer’s Silverstone Classic which is scheduled (30 July – 1 August). A ‘Greatest Hits’ theme will line-up of spectacular races compiled for The Classic’s ‘postponed’ 30th birthday party.
A re-run of the 2019 battle is planned with the addition of the mighty Mini Coopers in a bid to celebrate Mini’s own 60th birthday in style. A record-breaking entry of 60 racing Mini Cooper S models all dating back to the Swinging Sixties dazzling will thrash around the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit in front of a distanced crowd with restrictions being monitored.

The event will take place over all three days to ensure everyone has easy access to the Mini Cooper entertainment, with qualification for all-important grid positions taking place on Friday with 20-minute races on both Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
Our ‘Greatest Hits’ collection of races compiled to celebrate the Classic’s 30th birthday has just gained another couple of chart-toppers. Just like the Jaguar E-type, the Mini Cooper is a true British design icon – now to have fantastic races dedicated to both these wonderful motoring legends on the same bill this summer will be really incredible and something really special for show-goers to look forward to
The 2021 bill also features a very special race to mark 60 years of the equally evocative Jaguar E-type as part of its unrivalled programme of retro races that showcase the very best of historic motorsport from across the ages.
