Once again the annual NEC Restoration Show opened its classic doors at 10am on Friday 22 March 2019.
Footfall was lighter than expected with a relaxed beginning to proceedings, which as ever boasted a whole host of classic cars, quirkiness and ongoing restoration works for enthusiasts to scrutinise.
Anticipation was also in the air as the Practical Classics’ Restorer of the Year announcement hailed over the tannoy system. The winner was about to be revealed!
With great eagerness amongst all, Wheeler Dealer Mike Brewer and Practical Classics editor Danny Hopkins crowned Paul Henley as the ultimate winner with his impeccable Datsun 240Z. Indeed a worthy victor!
TV motoring personalities Vicki Butler-Henderson and Alex Riley joined the party on the Practical Classics Live Stage to reveal some exciting news about their new TV show The Car Years exclusively to our audience – they will be coming to screens via ITV4 late April/early May.
They were also teasing the various eras and the classic marques from those decades – and started a great debate on which was best!
Tomorrow, Wheeler Dealers’ Mike Brewer and the Salvage Hunters: Classic Cars team Drew Pritchard and Paul Cowland will be revealing all the behind the scenes gossip, along with the Practical Classics restoration project on a Triumph TR6.
Remember tickets are still available for Saturday and Sundays action here.
