This beautiful creation is a hallmarked sterling silver 1:12 scale fully detailed model of AX201, the original 1907 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost…

Regarded by many as the world’s most compelling and significant Rolls-Royce ever built, ‘AX201’ was built 114 years ago and recognised as ‘the‘ very car that gave birth to the now legendary ‘best car in the world’ moniker, as well as the affectionate ‘Silver Ghost’ nickname that was attributed in hindsight to Rolls-Royce 40/50 models officially.

It was back in 1907 when the record-breaking Roller was showcased at the Scottish Reliability Trials where it covered a staggering 14,371 miles without issue under close scrutiny of the RAC – almost doubling the existing record. Drawing inspiration from the incredible achievements, appearance, and eerie silence of AX201, it was decided that all 40/50 HP chassis cars would display the now-iconic Silver Ghost name.

This particular stunning handcrafted 1907 Rolls-Royce Ghost Silver 1:12 Model was hand-made by master craftsman Mr. Gil Holt of Anthony Holt & Sons, who have been creating bespoke three-dimensional objects of beauty for three generations since 1915 using precious metals including Gold, Rhodium, and Silver.

A lengthy 8-month build process begins with utilising CAD data, stereolithography, blueprints, and drawings with each hallmarked sterling silver 1:12 scaled model being carefully reproduced, then highly polished and rhodium plated to stop the tarnishing process that is synonymous with silver.

Paying tribute to one of the most valuable and desirable classic cars in the world, the sterling silver 1:12 Silver Ghost measures in at an impressive 15 1/2′ (39.37cm) in length and is handcrafted to an extraordinary standard of detail including the bonnet opening as it would in 1907 to reveal a fully detailed engine, intricate pipework, dynamo, carburettors, flywheel, and exhaust system.

Externally, the incredible detail continues with those all-important runner boards and even takes into account the semi-elliptic leaf spring set up on the front of the vehicle and complicated semi-elliptic leaf spring / auxiliary transverse leaf spring located at the rear. Tyres arrive in the period Dunlop Chevron Cords while engine sump and brakes are all visible underneath.
